To practice the Past Simple Tense for the sixth graders It is explained the form and use of the Past Simple TenseIt is given the steps for understanding and practising exercises expressing actions that occured at a stated time in the past.Thus the time is already known or implied, e.g. My friends went to the seaside in Greece last summer.(When did they go Greece? Last summer.The time is stated;) for actions that happened immediately one after the other(e.g.First ,she read the message and then she called her mum.) , for past habits or states which are now finished.In such cases we can also use the expression „used to”e.g People used to walk a lot back in the days. talking about the lives of people that are no longer alive. e.g. Carry Grant starred in a number of successful films...There are used time references like yesterday, the day before yesterday, two days/weeks/months/a long time ago,many years ago, last night week/month/year/century.,then,when, in 2002 Spelling rules for regular verbs e+d=bake-baked double consonant+ed=stop-stopped consonant +y=ied-fry-fried vowel+y+ed=stay-stayed.. .Ss need to improve their grammar skills in refering to the Past Simple TenseAt the end of the lesson it will be given a feedback to Ss
